Questions you may have

What are the requirements to obtain a pilot certificate?
17 years of age, however you can start training prior to your 17th birthday.  You will need to read and speak English.

Do you need a drivers license?
No

What is the process to obtain a private pilot certificate?
You will start by taking a flight with a certified flight instructor and get the feel of the controls.  Your flight instructor will have a syllabus to follow to achieve your private pilot certificate.  You will have ground school lessons with your instructor in addition to your flying lessons.  Once you have completed the requirements,  you will take a written exam and have a check ride.

How long does it take?
It is really up to you.  The amount of time and effort you put in will determine the timeline.  It could be as short as a couple of months if you fly often and study hard.  It is suggested that you fly multiple times a week to prevent having to relearn previous lessons.

What is the cost?
The cost varies on how many hours you fly, most students fly over the minimum 40 hours. The value of the scholarship is over $20,000

It never expires however you will need to pass a review every two years to stay current.
