Authority

Santa Ynez Valley Airport is a Santa Barbara County owned; and operated by nine elected volunteers. These members are known as the Santa Ynez Valley Airport Authority which meets monthly to attend to airport operations. The Santa Ynez Valley Airport Authority (SYVAA) is a private, non-profit, public benefit corporation, which was founded for the sole purpose of leasing, managing and operating the Santa Ynez Airport for the benefit of Santa Barbara County, the community in which the airport is located, and the airport users.

Membership: Members are designated as "USERS & NON-USERS."
USER is defined as any person who is a tenant, occupant of land or of a building on the Santa Ynez Airport. Owns, leases, or flies often or regularly or has a hangar at the Airport.
NONUSER is any person who does not otherwise qualify as a USER.
MEMBERS: This corporation has one class of members, designated general members. Any person dedicated to the purposes of this corporation and who is a bonafide resident within the boundaries of the Santa Ynez Union High School shall be eligible for membership on approval of the membership application board.
MEETINGS: Board meetings are held the first Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the Administration Building at the airport.
